Hi, my name is Lisl & I have been making sea glass jewelry for a living for twenty two years. I started making jewelry with these sea changed gems while living in the Caribbean on the island of Puerto Rico where I found my first piece of sea glass. A latecomer to the web, Out Of The Blue Seaglass Jewelry is the oldest sea glass jewelry company that I know of. I only work with genuine sea glass that was found on the beach and was worn smooth by the natural tumbling forces of the sea. I am just as much of a sea glass collector as I am a sea glass jewelry artist and have spent much of my life wandering the worlds beaches in search of these treasures.

I find that sea glass evokes the ancient and elemental and this is the inspiration for my jewelry designs. I often find myself wondering what ancient maritime cultures would have done with sea glass. With this inquiry in mind I strive to make sea glass jewelry that has a rustic elegance and a timeless beauty. This jewelry is truly handmade as I make the ear-wires, links, chains & many of the clasps by hand using simple tools and techniques that have changed little since ancient times.

Sea glass or beach glass is our lost broken glass that has found its way to the sea where it is transformed into frosted gem like treasures by the natural tumbling action of the tides. Often poetically referred to as "Mermaids Tears" sea glass washes up on beaches all over the world. In writing you will sometimes see seaglass, or beachglass. I love the oneness of "seaglass" after all those years in the ocean it has become something beyond man made glass. It is as if the glass has blended with the sea and the two are now inseparable.
