Wild In The Caribbean Bangle
Irregularly shaped round, frosted aquamarine glass beads that glow like the waters of the Caribbean and semi-opaque light blue glass beads with dark blue designs are distanced by hand coiled fine ( pure ) silver wire as they circumnavigate a copper bangle. The aquamarine beads have subtle wisps of gray that enhance the ancient and organic beauty of these beads. The beads are from Ghana and are made with recycled glass. They are made with glass bottles and other discarded glass items that are worked into a powder which is then placed into molds. The beads are fired in a kiln which is made out of termite mound clay that is fueled with crushed palm kernels. I antiqued the copper to create a patina which gives this bangle bracelet a rustic and soulful beauty. The aquamarine beads are 15mm and the tube beads are 25mm L x 8mm W. This bangle slips on over the wrist and is small/medium in size. The inner diameter is 2&1/2" to 2&3/4". Copper has an ancient and warm beauty and it is also very inexpensive. Beautifully handmade here in my studio and beautifully affordable!
