I felt like making something that was dreamy and watery and that was also playful and fun. These earrings are the result! Cobalt blue sea glass worn smooth by some of the Caribbean's most powerful surf sways beneath beautiful blue beads. We found the sea glass on the beaches of Rincon, Puerto Rico. The largest beads are 10mm and were made in Ghana with recycled glass. As a fun and unexpected accent I used 4mm size zig zag shaped glass beads. To intensify the dreaminess of the blues I topped these earrings off with 6mm Swarovski crystal beads in a color that Swarovski calls Caribbean Opal. I made the ear wires by hand with  sterling silver wire and they have an ancient and classical beauty. The sea glass is 5/8 L x 1/2" W". The earrings length is 2&1/8"  from he bottom of the ear wires. All sterling silver. Authentic sea glass.

About The Sea Glass

Rare Sea Glass

Cobalt blue sea glass is an intense saturated blue. The color is dense, vibrant and jewel like. The best known sources for cobalt blue sea glass are vintage to antique Milk Of Magnesia bottles, Vick's Vapor Rub jars, Bromo Seltzer bottles and Noxzema jars. There are many other sources for cobalt blue sea glass which include a vast array of old depression glass, decorative glass and medicinal bottles.

About The Beads

The largest beads are 10mm.They are from Ghana and are made with recycled glass. They are made with glass bottles and other discarded glass items that are worked into a powder which is then placed into molds. The beads are fired in a kiln which is made out of termite mound clay that is fueled with crushed palm kernels.

The sapphire blue zig zag shaped beads are 4mm. They are antique glass beads that were made in Bohemia ( now the Czech Republic ) in the early 1900s.

The Swarovski crystal beads are 6mm. They are beautifully facetted and Swarovski calls this dreamy color Caribbean Opal.
