Sea Glass Earrings

Sea glass earrings are the ultimate in mermaid adornment. Handmade ear wires are a hallmark of our earrings. Each and every ear wire was hand formed and forged here in our studio which gives the earrings a rustic elegance. In addition to the ear wires all hoops and links are also made here in our studio.

 

 

 

 

 

Sea Glass Pendants

Sea glass pendants are the perfect way to celebrate a single piece or a few pieces of sea glass. Out Of The Blue Seaglass Jewelry offers pendants that are made with wire wrapped or drilled sea glass. All of our pendants are designed to let your inner mermaid shine and are of heirloom quality.

Drilled Sea Glass Pendants - A solitary piece of drilled sea glass is transformed into a pendant with a bale or element that was handmade here in our studio. Small pebble like pieces of sea glas are center drilled and are incorporated into several pendant designs.

Wire Wrapped Sea Glass Pendants - Wrapping an object with wire for purposes of adornment is a practice that dates back to the ancient Phoenicians and possibly beyond that in time. Wire wrapping serves to create a rustic and protective setting for an object. An object should sit securely in a wire wrapped setting and this should be achieved without the use of adhesives ( glues or adhesives are never used in any of our jewelry ). When I wire wrap sea glass I strive to create a piece of jewelry that is beautiful and very strong. I use thick gauge sterling silver wire for this purpose which I work harden to strengthen. With thick gauge wire flowing lines hammer beautifully, spirals hold their shape nicely and the finished product has a wonderful tactile quality. Strength is a hallmark of our wire wrapped sea glass pendants and with proper care these pendants could become heirlooms. It took the sea decades and decades to tranform a piece of broken glass into a frosty sublime treasure so I want to be sure that I am creating strong pieces of jewelry that honors the journey that a piece of sea glass has taken.

 

Sea Glass Bracelets

What better way for a playful mermaid to adorn herself than with a sea glas bracelet? Informed by the ancient world Out Of The Blue Seaglass Jewelry crafts bracelets that are all about sea siren elegance. Using techniques that have changed little since ancient times precious metal wire is shaped, coiled, spiraled and forged by hand into durable components that are hand pieced together one at a time. This type of work is known as cold work because it is solder less. Jewelry made this way is very strong and will last for generations if properly cared for. Unless otherwise noted all chains are made here in our studio using the methods described above.
