England III

Sea Glass From England - Part III
In addition to sea glass we found some other cool treasures such as the old porcelan bottle stoppers ( pictured above ). The beaches in this area are also covered with some beautiful stones, pebbles, cobblestones and bricks.
Compared to the Caribbean ( where we have done most of our sea glass collecting ) the tidal change is dramatic. When the tide comes in it really charges the shore and we found ourselves attempting to outrun the North Sea a few times! Once the tide drops it leaves behind a beautiful pebble spread where ocean frosted bits of England's glass making industry hide amongst the colorful beach stones. The sea glass does not stand out and reveals itself with a hint of glowing light.
The images below show pieces of sea glass as found on the beach. It was sunny on the day I took these pictures. On most days it was overcast and on some days the shore held a beautiful silvery sea fog.
