About The Sea Glass
We collected this piece of lavender sea glass from a beach in Puerto Rico. Lavender sea glass comes from what was once clear colorless glass that was made with manganese. Over time clear glass that contains manganese purples if it has been exposed to sunlight. This change is permanent and depending on how much manganese is in the glass it will intensify and become a deeper lavender if kept in a sunny spot. Lavender sea glass continues to be changed by nature after it has been collected from the beach.
