About The Sea Glass
The sea glass in this pendant was found on a beach in England near the site of a Victorian era glass factory that once stood on a cliff overlooking the North sea. Workers in this factory would gather scraps of molten glass together at the end of the work day and would make items for their own use, then whatever scraps of glass were left over after that were discarded into the North Sea.
This piece of English sea glass is very thick and is beautifully frosted. It is mostly made up of gray blue glass with a layers of golden glass and indigo glass.
Spirals
The spiral is an ancient design and has been used by various cultures to symbolize the eternal. Spirals appear in nature in seashells, the oceans tides, winds, plants and galaxies. This form is ageless.
Ocean Galaxy Bale
The bale was handmade here in our studio with thick gauge sterling silver wire and allows for the color striations of the sea glass to be viewed from all angles.
