About The Sea Glass
The cobalt blue sea glass in this necklace is from the Pacific Northwest and was collected by a beachcomber who collects sea glass on rugged and remote beaches in Washington State. Cobalt blue sea glass may date back as far as the late 1800's and possible sources are various medicine and poison bottles along with Phillips Milk Of Magnesia bottles and Vicks and Noxzema jars.
Spirals
The spiral is an ancient design and has been used by various cultures to symbolize the eternal. Spirals appear in nature in seashells, the oceans tides, winds, plants and galaxies. This form is ageless.
Octopus's Garden
This necklace, including the clasp, chain, spiraling and coiling, was made by hand here in our studio. Thick gauge sterling silver wire is shaped and forged with simple hand tools and techniques which have changed little since ancient times. The chain is made with thick gauge wire and is cold worked, a solderless technique, which is considered to be a jewelry art form unto itself.

This necklace is 17" in length. If you would like the length adjusted please email me before ordering to see what is possible.
